My Son’s Hilarious Daily Remarks
I used to think only little children make hilarious remarks on a daily basis. But to my pleasure, it turns out that having an eight year old child is still funny!
Can’t we just stay home?
What can you do if your child is a devoted homebody? You’d probably have to trick him by saying you’re going to a picnic for a couple of hours after having secretly packed a huge bag of his favorite toys. In the middle of the trip, you’d reveal your nefarious plan of taking him to another city 250 km away for a few days. Then, you’d have to face the consequences of your wicked ways and wipe away your child’s tears. At least, that’s the way it happens in my family.
A Park with Rope Courses
Have I had a go at doing something new recently? I don’t think I am a "let’s try something new" kind of person. I have a lot of hobbies and I prefer to stick to them.
My Thoughts on English Language
I am ashamed to say that I’ve been studying English for nearly 30 years. “Ashamed” because my level is still far from perfection. But now I believe that learning any foreign language is a process and as life itself is a process we should better enjoy both without trying to achieve any questionable goals.
Fernsehen und Demographie
Vor einigen Jahren habe ich einen spannenden Artikel über den Zusammenhang zwischen der Demographie und dem Fernsehen auf Russisch gelesen, habe ihn toll gefunden und deshalb ins Deutsche übersetzt. Im Artikel geht es um die demographische Situation in Indien, das ich einmal besucht habe, und Mexiko.
Die Sommerferien nach der 1. Klasse
Im Juni besucht mein Sohn das Ferienlager seiner Schule. Dort bleiben die Kinder nur bis Mittag oder, etwas länger, bis 14 Uhr. Sie treffen Freunde, spielen, gehen im Park spazieren und besuchen Museen, Bibliotheken, Theater usw.
Kälte im Mai
Der Mai hat dieses Jahr alle überrascht. Nachdem wir schon im April die Temperaturen von +28 Grad in T-Shirts genossen haben, sind es jetzt minus ein Grad. Als es gestern angefangen hat, sehr stark zu schneien, hat mein Mann gescherzt, dass er die Schneebürsten fürs Auto schon in die Garage weggetan hat, und wir haben viel gelacht.
Putting the Baby to Bed
It was definitely a big mistake to read a story to my son about the confrontation between two little brownies and a witch before bed. The brownies are very kind, so they provoke the witch with all their kindness. Now, energy is seething in my son and he is willing to fight somebody himself.
Das Kind ins Bett bringen
Es war sicher ein Fehler, vor dem Schlaf ein Buch über die Konfrontation zwischen zwei kleinen guten Hausgeistern und einer Hexe zu lesen! Jetzt fühlt sich das Kind voller Energie und fühlt den Wunsch, auch jemanden zu bekämpfen.
